Background to the Film

It is well known that people with cognitive disabilities or neurodivergence are significantly more likely to experience friendlessness in adulthood.

This film tells the unusual stories of friendships that have formed between people with and without cognitive disabilities, these are known as ‘mixed-ability friendships’.

Our production team is also mixed-ability and we are proud to be collaborating and consulting with artists who have cognitive disabilities in every aspect of the film’s development and production.

If you, or someone you know is part of a friendship like this please email director, Jen Logan at hello@beyondmotherlove.com. We’d love to hear from you!
